DORIS DAY on YOUR HIT PARADE 1947: FEUDIN AND FIGHTIN

Setting brief for players

It is March of 1947, war is over and Europe is trembling in one of most horrible winters in history.
Cities are still in ruins, economies are shattered, American, British and Soviet forces occupy most of the Europe. As you listen to the radio you would hear jazz, political news are grim as Allies still holding uneasy meetings on results of the war. Marshall's plan is not yet implemented, reparations and new borders are not yet drawn. Colonies of Britain and France using their weakened state drive to independence either by revolt or peaceful ways. Armies are being reduced in numbers as governments are trying to save money for restoration of countries.

For you living is constrained by food rations, electricity limitation as well as bombed out streets. After you left the air force, (perhaps for a new job?) one of your friends told you about recruitment for some African air force. Perhaps out of curiosity, you came to a meeting with the agent to find out that Imperial Ethiopian Air Force desperately need pilots and ground crew to support and maintain itself.
This is where we start our story.

Character creation brief

As playtest for for my upcoming game goes on, i'd like to add a short players brief on character creation. To start, for now i limit characters to male, allied fighter pilot, who has flown at least one type of these aircrafts: Hurricane, Spitfire, Typhoon or Tempest.

Just some main questions which i will translate into stats and skills.

1. Origins: Name, place of origin, family status, age, visual description, family origins, education.
2. Military career: pick any Western Allied Air Force, why joined, time spent in action, significant campaigns, aerial kills, lost aircraft and crashlandings, achieved rank, reason for being discharged, and main reason for accepting contract with Imperial Ethiopian Air Force.
3. Skills: Personal preference, skills and habits. Hobbies, knowledge of certain subjects like politics or foreign languages, ability to command others, survival instincts, brawls or ability to listen to intuition. Any non-aircraft related skills: technical, survival, psy or communication.
4. Scars: Some unusual events that affected your pilot, significant people, near-death situations, perhaps whispers of magic or unnatural effects, faith and attitude to religion.
